Size Guide — Will Your Razai Fit?

Quick answer: a single razai or a double blanket goes in the Jumbo, 80 × 100 cm. Blankets, jackets and a heavy jora go in the Large, 60 × 80 cm. Clothes, sweaters, shawls and anything travelling in a suitcase go in the Medium, 50 × 70 cm. Every set is 5 bags — 2 Medium, 2 Large and 1 Jumbo — with a hand pump included free.

The sizes

The Jumbo does not fit in a suitcase. It is a home-storage size. For travel, take the Medium.

Will your razai fit?

Fold the razai the way you'd normally fold it to put it on a shelf, then measure the folded block. If it sits within roughly 80 × 100 cm laid flat, it goes in the Jumbo — and most single razai and standard double blankets do.

Two things worth knowing before you measure:

• Thickness doesn't stop you the way width does. The whole point of the bag is that thickness disappears when you pump. It's the flat footprint of the folded razai that has to fit inside the bag.
• One razai per Jumbo bag. Don't force two in. An overfilled bag can't be zipped cleanly, and a zip that isn't clean is a bag that refills with air.

What typically goes in each size

Medium — 50 × 70 cm

Everyday clothes, sweaters, shawls, and travel. This is the size that actually fits inside a suitcase with room left to close it. Two Medium bags come in every set.

Large — 60 × 80 cm

Blankets, jackets and heavy joras. A heavy zari or bridal jora is fine in a Large — but pump gently and don't fully compress it. Zari and heavy embroidery sit on top of the fabric, and full compression for months presses that raised work flat. You still get the sealed barrier against dust and damp without flattening the work.

Jumbo — 80 × 100 cm

Razai and double blankets. One per set, because most households need exactly one. In a Jumbo bag a razai takes about half the space it takes loose on a shelf. How much space you save depends on the item — soft, fluffy things compress the most, and a thin cotton chadar barely changes.

Pump basics

A hand pump is included free with every set. No electricity, no vacuum cleaner.

1. Fill — lay items in flat, stay under the fill line, don't overstuff.
2. Zip — close the double zip and run the slide clip along it, then run your fingers down the whole zip line and check no cloth is caught in it. Cloth in the zip is the single most common reason a bag puffs back up.
3. Pump — hand pump onto the one-way valve and pump until the bag stops shrinking. A small bag takes a minute or two; a Jumbo razai takes a little longer.
4. Store — stack the flat sealed slabs on a shelf, off the floor.

Sealed properly, a bag stays compressed for months. A little air can come back over time — that's normal for every vacuum bag, not a fault. If a bag re-inflates within days, open it, clear the zip line and pump again.

Store only things that are soft and completely dry: razai, blankets, clothes, pillows, soft toys. Not leather, not fur, not memory foam, and nothing sharp. The full list is in what to store in vacuum bags — and what not to.
